How about Bruno Bear watching you at night, when you are asleep? Or the swimming pool and the tree house? When you don’t feel like carrying your towel, shovel, bucket and ball to the beach, you can use one of our pull carts!
Family apartments
Our hotel has twelve apartments, which are perfect for families up to four persons. The apartments have a living room with a kitchen, a bathroom, and two bedrooms with two beds in each room. Of course you can use all our hotel services like the laundry and maid service. The family apartments are ideal for families with children who are a little older: they have their own bedroom and refrigerator.
Hotel rooms:
All our hotel rooms are very suitable for children. Bruno Bear is present in every room, and the lamps are decorated with antlers. In some rooms you’ll find an electric fireplace, which takes care of a really cosy atmosphere in your room, but doesn’t generate any heat, so it’s perfectly safe for children.
Lucky dip, kids’ corner, tipi, tennis court
The atmosphere in our Brasserie is informal, so your children are also more than welcome. Children don’t have to be bored in the Brasserie, because there is a kids’ corner, a computer and a “lucky-dip-tree”. Outside there is a tipi and a tree house where children can play, for the older children (and of course adults) there is an all-weather tennis court and the swimming pool.
Tree house
In a large tree in the child-friendly area of our terrace we have recently built a tree house. Climb the rope ladder to access the tree house, the fastest way out is by using the slide, but it’s also possible the swing the ropes like Tarzan or Jane. For the grownups there are comfortable seats around the tree house, so they can watch their kids.
Swimming pool
What would the Badhotel be without a swimming pool? Our swimming pool is 25 meters long and 10 meters wide, and is open from the 15th of May until the end of September. When you’re done swimming, you can enjoy the sun on one of the sunbeds around the pool. For the little ones there is a paddling pool, so they can also enjoy the water safely.
So just imagine yourself, lying in the sun with a good book and a rose or cocktail, while watching your children having the time of their life…
Crocodiles can be bought at the reception, to make it even more exciting.
Indians’ menu
In the Brasserie our younger guests can enjoy food from our Indians’ menu. They can choose dishes like Redskinsoup, tree trunks with fries, or ice cold bear claws.
Pull carts
A walk to the beach lasts just 8 minutes at the Badhotel! Don’t feel like carrying all your beach necessities? Rent a pull carts for just €5,00 and you can pull your child and belongings to the beach.
Beach pavilions
On the beach you can find five beautiful beach pavilions. For example the Salsa beachclub, which looks like a pirate ship.
Dune houses
Would you like to see how the inhabitants of Rockanje lived around 1850-1910? Take a look in the outdoor museum “De Duinhuisjes van Rockanje”
Visitors centre Tenellaplas
At approximately 2 kilometres from the Badhotel visitors centre Tenellaplas is located. Here you can find a wide variety of walking routes through the dunes and woods. Children can get a backpack with all kinds of tools to explore the nature, for instance a cup with a build in magnifying glass. For the younger kids there are games like “guess which animal I’m imitating” and “the nature memory game”. For the youngest kids there is “the gnome path”.
Smallest museum of Voorne Putten: “In den Halven Maen”
A nice place to visit, especially with children, is the museum: “In den Halven Maen” in Tinte (approximately a ten minute drive). It’s an old-fashioned grocery store with old-fashioned groceries. In the candy shop you can buy all kind of Dutch delicacies, which of course are also old-fashioned. In the garden or the café you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, of get a cold soda.
Information centre Futureland on the Tweede Maasvlakte
Are you curious about the new harbour that is being built? Visit Futureland! Experience the untamed nature with its waves, sand and wind. On the Panorama deck you can see the progress of the “Tweede Maasvlakte”. You can also take a virtual helicopter trip to explore the “Tweede Maasvlakte” of 2035 in the FutureFlightExperience. Visit the future at just a 15 minute drive from the Badhotel Rockanje.
